Ok, so you have almost decided to visit Grace Family Church.  What should you expect during your visit?

Children

First, you will notice that there are children in the worship service.  This  is part of being a "family integrated" church, as there is no age segregation, so that we minister to the family as a whole.  Parents are encouraged to sit with their children during the service times, and yes, to discipline them if they misbehave.  So you will notice during the service, that parents will from time to time to go out with a child, and then to come back in after the child is attended to.  This may be a bit distracting at first.  However, we trust that because this model of church is one that is both biblical and historical, it is best.  Most family integrated churches say that people quickly become accustomed to the movement.

Feel free to bring your children and/or grandchildren into the worship service.  No one will think it strange that you have small children in the sanctuary.  No one will look at you strangely if you have to go out with a child.  On the contrary, you will be encouraged and affirmed as you teach your children to experience this most important part of the Christian life....corporate worship.

Communion

We will also participate in communion, or the Lord's Supper, at the end of every service.  We practice "open communion", in that you do not have to be a member of our church to partake of the ordinance.  You simply must be a professing Christian.  All Christians are welcome to participate.

A time of repentance and confession will precede the ordinance.  During this time, families are encouraged to be sure that relationships are right between each other and each will examine himself before partaking of the ordinance.

Common Meal

Finally, we will have a common meal after each service.  As a visitor, you are our guest.  When the worship service is dismissed, tables and chairs will be rearranged for the meal.  Each member family will bring a dish, more than enough for their family. We will eat together, and cultivate deep relationships during this precious time.  After lunch, the children will play.  The older men will teach the younger men.  The older women will teach the younger women.  The elders will minister to the flock.  All done in genuine conversation.

Because there will be no rush to return on Sunday evening, many will stay for a few hours.  However, we anticipate that things will wind down at about 3:00.

Please feel free to contact us by email if you have any questions.  We look forward to your visit!
